Slate Free visibility audit

How we work

From one question to a measured result.

Four phases, no surprises. You approve every change and every dollar of spend, and you see what moved, and what didn’t.

The four phases

Who does what, phase by phase.

Phase 1 of 4 · Free

Audit

What happens

A 15-minute live call. One product, two or three shopper questions, and the answers AI gives today, looked at together.

What we need

A product page, and the questions your customers ask before they buy.

What you get

A clear picture of where you stand. It’s a conversation, so there’s no written report.

Phase 2 of 4

Baseline

What happens

We agree the products and buying questions that matter, record how AI describes you today across ChatGPT and Perplexity, and check whether an ad test is a fit.

What we need

Store and analytics access, the facts about your products, and your goals.

What you get

A tracked set of questions, a dated baseline, and a written scope and price.

Phase 3 of 4

Build

What happens

Product page edits, buying guides, source corrections, ad campaigns, landing pages and tracking.

What we need

Timely approvals, and for ads, a budget you’ve signed off on.

What you get

The work, shipped, with a record of every change and when it went live.

Phase 4 of 4 · Then back to Build

Measure

What happens

We ask the same questions again and review campaign results against your store data.

What we need

Time for a monthly review, and your honest read on what you’re seeing.

What you get

Weekly updates, a monthly review, and a clear call on what to continue, change or stop.

Build and Measure repeat for as long as the work is worth doing.

Short. Specific. Every week.

What shipped, what we saw, and what happens next. Including the parts that didn’t move, because those decide the next step too.

Week 3 update · The Cabin Case

Shipped

  • Full dimensions and weight added to the carry-on page, approved Tuesday.
  • Three ad angles live for the carry-on, all within the approved test budget.

Observed

  • The product is now named in answers to the airline-fit question. Its dimensions are quoted correctly.
  • No change yet on the business-travel question. Nothing on the site answers it, so that’s next.
  • The durability angle is drawing the most clicks so far. Too early to call purchases.

Next

  • Draft a carry-on comparison guide for your approval.
  • Keep all three angles running until the test budget is spent.

Example update for a fictional brand. Not client data.

Priced to the work. Not a package.

No two catalogs need the same work, so there’s no price list. You get a written scope and price before anything begins.

What shapes the scope

  • How many products and pages need work
  • How many buying questions we track
  • Whether ads are part of it
  • How much new content, like buying guides, is needed

The way we work, in writing.

What you can hold us to.

  1. 01

    You approve everything.

No page edit, ad or dollar of spend goes live without your sign-off.

  2. 02

    No promises we can’t keep.

We don’t guarantee rankings, recommendations or sales. We guarantee the work and an honest report on it.

  3. 03

    Same questions, every time.

Progress is measured against a fixed set of buying questions, not whichever answer looks best that day.

  4. 04

    Paid and organic, kept apart.

Ads don’t buy answers. We report the two separately so you can see what each is doing.

  5. 05

    Straight about unclear evidence.

When the data can’t tell us what caused a change, we say so, and decide the next step with you.

  6. 06

    No hand-offs.

The people on your audit are the people doing your work.
